Drill-down Report¶
You can use a drill-down report to view more detailed data from the general view within the report. When you drill down to the specific data in a main report, a subreport opens.
For example, a report displays the stores sales data of different cities using a pie chart. If you hover over a pie segment and select it, a subreport of a specific city opens. You can see the store sales data of that city.
A subreport can be opened in the same tab or in the new tab.
- When a subreport opens in a new tab, you can see a Close button
. Using a Closebutton, you can return to the screen from where a main report is accessed. - When a subreport opens in the same tab, both a Close button
, and a Back button
are displayed. Using a Back button, you can go back to the main report.
For the main report with input control, you can configure input controls in the following display modes:
-
Pop-up window
-
Separate page
-
Top of page
-
In page
The input control values automatically reapplied to the main report when you return from the subreport. Any report interaction through JIVE actions such as, sorting, filtering, or formatting is also restored on the main report.
You can edit a drill-down report in JasperReports Server. If you close the report without saving the changes, you are prompted to save or cancel the changes.
