Operating Systems¶

All combinations of listed Operating Systems/App Servers/Databases are supported (where supported by third parties themselves). If a combination is not included in one of the installers, then the setup is documented and requires manual installation using a WAR file. WAR installation is supported for 64-bit versions (where available).

Note

A Binary Installer is available for Windows, Linux, and Mac. The Binary Installer installs JasperReports Server, automatically configures the JasperReports Server database, and optionally installs the sample data for working with tutorials. It uses the Tomcat application server and the PostgreSQL database.

The Binary Installer is intended for evaluation purposes only. To install JasperReports Server for enterprise production environments, use the stand-alone WAR file distribution, which is the official JasperReports Server installer.

Note

Note that after a release, Binary Installers are not updated with the latest versions of the third-party components, and therefore may contain components that can become insecure.
