October 2026 Release

Product Changes

  • Data binning to Databricks — write binned valid and invalid records to Databricks tables

Bug Fixes

  • General fixes and improvements
  • Issue with BigQuery cross region scans

September 2026 Release

Product Changes

Major Changes

  • Hybrid deployment model — Actian Data Observability hosts the control plane while scans run on your own Spark engine in your own environment, so raw data never leaves your network. Supported on GCP Dataproc, Azure Databricks, and AWS Databricks, with additional engines planned.
  • Microsoft Fabric connector — connect to Fabric Warehouse and Lakehouse SQL analytics endpoints, including support for SQL queries.
  • Write-back to Actian Data Intelligence Platform — publish data quality scores and incident details into the catalog's native data quality section on scan completion.

General Improvements

  • API keys are now supported at user scope — any user can create a key for themselves through the new auth/api_keys endpoints, which take no tenant parameter. Key creation was previously restricted to tenant administrators, and the tenant-scoped auth/{tenant}/apiKeys endpoints are now deprecated. Existing keys continue to work.

Bug Fixes

  • General fixes and improvements

Deprecations

  • The Statistics page has reached end of life. Use the Asset Manager page instead.

August 2026 Release

Product Changes

Major Changes

  • Asset Manager page is now enabled by default, and the legacy assets page has been disabled
  • Simplified Actian Data Observability MCP server deployment — an OAuth client secret is no longer required to connect a client such as Claude, and SSO is now supported

General Improvements

  • General UI look and feel updates across the application, including logged-in user details now visible in the UI
  • Metadata scan enabled by default for all SQL-type sources
  • Managed identity support for Azure SQL Server — authenticate with a Microsoft Entra managed identity instead of a stored password (Azure deployments only)
